Are you looking for an exciting full-time teaching opportunity with the potential for a leadership role? We are looking to fill the position of Snowboard Instructor CASI Level 3 -4 at Fernie Alpine Resort reporting to the Winter Sports School Directors. The position would be full time throughout the winter season working 4-5 days per week, teaching our instructor training program and 2-week snowboard improvement courses for our gap partner Nonstop ski and SB. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching in Canada and be an excellent communicator and team player. The CASI Level 2 Course Evaluator qualification would be a strong asset.

You Will:

· Ensure a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for both guests and staff

  • Ensure public and personal safety on lifts
  • Train gap clients towards their level 1 and 2.
  • Instruct and coach guests of all ages and abilities to ski within the instructor's certification level, group lessons to privates, adults and children.
  • Complete lesson ability reports & relevant administration forms as required.
  • Act as an ambassador and host at various functions for the resort on and off the hill.
  • Know and adhere to the Alpine Responsibility Code.
  • Know and abide by all RCR Policy & Protocol and Safety Management Program

You Have:

  • Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors required, Levels 3 or 4.
  • Dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic, professional and strong customer service skills.
  • Ski industry experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills, working in a team environment.
  • Physical fitness. This is an asset as the role is physically demanding, and all applicants must be capable of performing the job duties listed above in an outdoor mountain environment.
