Food & Beverage - Cashier / Barista (Winter)

We are looking to fill the Food and Beverage Cashier & Barista position at Fernie Alpine Resort. Every guest interaction is an opportunity to brighten their morning with a fresh cup of coffee and create a lasting memory. Your warm, personal attention and knowledge make guests feel unique and valued. The ideal candidate will have previous cash handling experience, legendary customer service skills, and an eye for detail. You Will:

• Ensure a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for both guests and staff
• Assist and upsell guests at every opportunity
• Ensure a clean and safe working environment by following proper HACCP procedures
• Cashier duty, ring in all food items quickly and precisely
• Lift, load and carry boxes up and down stairs
• Daily, ongoing cleaning of guest tables, food service counters, condiment counter and garbage/recycle stations
• Positive communication with your teammates
• Process payment transactions using the point-of-sale system
• Balance the register and prepare cash outs
• Use proper rotation procedures (FIFO)
• Refresh and restock areas as necessary
• Follow preset systems and recipes
• Sell alcoholic beverages
• Take food orders from guests and plate them
• Assist in dishwashing and garbage removal
• Other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager
• Know and adhere to the policies, rules and protocols outlined in the RCR Employee Handbook
• Know and follow all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program

You Have:

• Previous cash handling experience
• Serving it Right certification is required
• Barista certificate or Food Safe certificate an asset
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills & team player
• Physically capable
